Tour Guides for the Week

This week, Pedro and I got to play tour guide for my grandparents (Papa & Joan to me).  After an extensive tour of the UK, they decided to spend their last week with us in Glasgow.  When family has visited us in the past, we've tried to show them as much as we could (though without a car).  That meant most of the time we were 'go, go, go' on trains and tours busses.  But my grandparents had the advantage of seeing it already!  And now that Pedro has a car, we had more options to explore places not far from us.  We managed to see bits of City Centre and West End, with them being able to explore more while I was at work. But the first drive we took was to Pollock Park.  I have wanted to visit this park ever since I found out that's where the council's cows stay year-round. Joan wanted to see some highland cattle up close (instead of driving past real quick in a tour bus) so I figured it was a good place to find them.  Even better, it was only a ...

The Devil's Pulpit

Due to unforeseen automotive difficulties, we have not had an adventure together in awhile.  Coming home from Costco one day, we could smell petrol from the car's engine.  After a quick look, we figured it was coming from the fuel injectors.  Only problem was all the auto shops within 10 miles were fully booked for 2 weeks.  That can be the downside to being surrounded by mom & pop shops; they fill up fast and not all are fully equipped for every problem.  Pedro called around and finally got a good referral, able to be book an appointment last week.  They fixed the car quickly (and moderately cheaply as a bonus) and we were able to get back on the road.   The Devil's pulpit has been on my sightseeing list for a while now, as it's not something you can easily get to without a car.  Pedro managed to check it out first, going during the week, and found all the trails not to take, so when he took me today, it was a straight shot.  As wi...
