Visiting home

I know this is a very late and condensed post, but this trip was really focused on family and not sightseeing.  After his end of year exams and before his extra-mural studies began, Pedro wanted to take the opportunity to visit his family in Florida and Cuba.  I wasn't sure I would come along at first, as I knew I wouldn't be going to Cuba with him.  But his family was kind enough to invite me to stay with them before they left for Camagüey.  After a week with them, I flew back to Scotland while Pedro returned about a week later.

It was so nice to see them.  We hadn't visited the States since we moved to Scotland, and his mom hadn't seen us since then either.  I feel like our time there was a blur of seeing family that we hadn't seen since our wedding. People who, in the meantime, had their own weddings, or had babies, and so many other big life events in the two years we've been overseas.  It was filled with good food and good fun.

While most of the time we were comfortably catching up at the kitchen table, we also found a lot of local activities to do with everyone, including a shooting range, botanical gardens, ice skating, axe throwing, and, of course, visiting the beach.

So here's some highlights -
