Separate Adventures - Day 26
I feel like I'm polishing myself up for my trip, or for Pedro? I did my nails, I polished my wedding ring, I also dug out some simple jewelry that will still be comfy for the flight.
I have a whole bunch of accessories for a bicycle on Amazon. Did I mention I love shopping on Amazon?? I've got bike lights, a helmet with a sun visor, some mud guards, and a front basket with handles that just lift off for shopping. I'm so excited. You'd think going from having a car to a bike would be slightly depressing, but I'm looking at it through new adventure eyes, so everything seems exciting. I should probably start looking for winter accessories too. And I mean actual winter, not Florida winter. Here, you could only hope for a few days of 40s, if not 50s. It gave us the illusion of winter early in the mornings before the sun came out and beat down on us. In Glasgow, it's pretty much guaranteed we'll see 40s and 30s for months. I'm so excited.
Thanks KLM, for giving me a heart attack! The airline for my second stop sent me the links to buy my arrival COVID test. The link automatically went to the form to fill out information for a day 2 test, a day 8 test, and a quarantine hotel! I was so confused, I just checked the Scottish government site and we were still on the Amber list. I went through the website for my traveling requirements and it took me back to the correct arrival COVID test kit. Whew! KLM was assuming I wasn't fully vaccinated!
At least now I've booked my test. My arrival terminal showed up, same as Pedro's when he flew, so I went ahead and booked it. 10 minutes later I received the confirmation code I needed to complete my passenger locator form. I know I've said that a lot, but until filled it out, I didn't put two and two together about what the form was actually for. I had to fill out information on my flights, what seat I'm sitting in, if I visit any places in-between, and where and with whom I'm staying for the first 10 days after arrival. I realize it's not just so they can find me if I test positive, but if they need to contact me behind someone on my flight tested positive. Exposure is the one thing I am not looking forward to during these flights. I will have my N95 on, I've save a few just for this trip. But I will still be worried about drinking and eating in public.
Well, I'm as ready as I can be. I downed two glasses of wine to sleep. Otherwise, I'll be up all night thinking about my trip. Tomorrow is my last separate adventure.
