Nesting

I was constantly moving today.  Pedro keeps telling me to pace myself, but I said, "no, I'm nesting".  I broke down carboard mountain (just in time for the next Amazon delivery), I vacuumed the living room, moved my desk to the other side of the room, and started to arrange and decorate my area.  Now, it's perfect. I fit perfectly in my space, and everything is personalized for me.  Pedro then helped me put together our nightstands.  It felt like Christmas, unboxing everything and putting it together.  But it really feels like our flat is becoming our home now.  Just a few last minute details, and we'll be done!

I also went on my first adventure on my own today.  It's a short walk to a busier street with the post office, bank, stores, and restaurants. The street itself is beautiful and new, and I know it's nowhere near the best in Glasgow.

I was dying to explore the Poundland. I loved going to Dollar Tree back home because there were always cheap materials for DYI or small crafting projects. This store did not disappoint! Yarn, paint, seasonal decorations...but I had to limit myself.  In America, every store has plastic bags, and I forget that that's not the case here.  So I didn't bring anything thinking I shouldn't buy more than what I could carry in my backpack away. That didn't stop me from looking like an American idiot standing there waiting for the cashier to bag my stuff. At least I recovered quickly and shucked my backpack to begin stuffing everything in. In the end, I had some paint supplies, Tupperware, and a spooky black lantern I ended up carrying home like the little Halloween nerd I am.
