Separate Adventures - Day 2

Pedro's first solo flying adventure was not a good one. Before his first flight landed, I saw his second flight was delayed. No bueno. His flight was delayed 30 mins, which meant he'd have 30 mins to catch his third flight (really 15 minutes since boarding stops 15 minutes before takeoff). Of course, as the information is coming in I'm relaying this to him, his mom, my mom, all while trying to help him out. The tight connection is at the Amsterdam airport, he lands at a gate in the E concourse and has to go to a gate in concourse D to catch his flight to Glasgow. Those should be right next to each other, right? To the Google!

"How big is the AMS Amsterdam airport?"

"10.76 mi²"....."One of the biggest and busiest in Europe"...Crap. This requires more Googling.

I found a gate map of the airport and sent it to him. I said you have to get from the top dot to the bottom dot in 15 minutes. He said he'd try.

Might work, right? Cue another 30 minute delay. Never mind! No way he'll make it now. His flight will land as the next one is taking off. I relay this to Pedro and tell him to go to an information counter somewhere to change his flight. I look at flights available too. Unfortunately the next flight is 7 hours from the time he lands. Poor Pedro.

I had set my alarm for 3am to check on his flight and talk to him about his next one. When he lands in Amsterdam, he instant messages me (yay free WiFi). I stayed in contact while he confirms that Delta gives him a new ticket for Glasgow, and he goes through customs. Now he's got 7 hours to kill.

Update- Pedro has landed! Bonus- his bags followed him! Woo! His last message said he was finding a taxi. He won't have WiFi until he gets to the hotel. But he's made it! Yay!!

Update2- Pedro is at the hotel with all his baggage!
